 Tiffany's Competition Training Journal 2004
« Thread Started on Aug 11, 2004, 7:59am »

I've received lots of questions regarding my next competition, so here's an update!

I will be competing for the Ms. Fitness San Diego title on Saturday, Sept. 4th in California!

I then fly to Vegas on Tuesday, Sept. 7th for prejudging on speech, routine and physique rounds for Ms. Fitness USA Finals on Friday, Sept. 10th! Top 5 at USA's will compete at the World competition on Sat., Sept. 11th!

I've been choreographing and working on my new fitness routine for the last 6 months, but started my intense training to get in competition shape about 6 weeks ago. Starting Monday, Aug. 16th (after this Saturday's fitness show), I will be able to focus on preparing for Ms. Fitness USA 110% and my REAL training will begin! (Check back here for regular updates on how my training is going! And if you can't make it to Vegas, I will have someone keep you updated on how I am doing at my competition)

I will not be able to start with any NEW CLIENTS for nutrition until after my competition, starting Sept. 15th! But I still have spots available for one-on-one personal training with a BODY Statement Trainer if anyone needs to get started right away.

"Happy Training!"

Tiffany

I promised myself I wouldn't take on any new clients until after my competition, but she was so determined...CONGRATULATIONS to Becky Brewster who just started on her new nutrition & training plan today- you'll see her on stage soon!

MY TRAINING:
Since Monday, I've been working on my strength moves & fine tuning my fitness routine every day. I also do 1 hour of gymnastics every day- A BIG THANK YOU to Carl Leland, my gymnastics coach, for all your help & support! Workouts, training and my leaning out phase is going smoothly! Just need more sleep and rest!

Those darn 5:30am clients I have to train are killin' me (but I still love you!)

My mood today- ;D
My mood when I trained with my gymnastics coach- ::)

 AUGUST 26TH- THURSDAY 3:15pm

THURSDAY, AUGUST 26TH

Yesterday I rated my gymnastics/routine practice at a 6.0 (scale from 1-10)- couldn't hit my moves and didn't seem to have the energy to do my routine. Confidence level was pretty low with only 2 weeks away from my national competition.

Well, this morning, I had a great routine practice early morning after a good night's sleep and breakfast (egg whites and oatmeal with flax seed)- nailed my head kips, etc. 10 times in a row :)

I had to remind myself that I am not Super Woman! Yesterday, when I was not 100% at my gymnastics practice, I had already had a full day of work and training. I had worked all day training clients, had done intense stretching on my legs and had a killer leg/hamstring workout earlier that day. By 5:30pm (when I had gymnastics training), my body and mind was fatiqued, although I felt like I was fine. (Not to mention I've been dropping my body fat at a pretty intense level this past week)

This journal entry is to remind myself and encourage other competitors in training- that during intense dieting and training for a show, an off day may just mean that your glycogen stores are low and energy output is low. Diet changes for optimal energy on competition day- so no worries.

If you are training for a competition and ever hit a low during your training (feel like your cardio or weight training is not at its normal intensity level), don't fret- we all go through this when dieting and training so hard!

Tiffany

My mood so far today- :D
I still have one more client ;D (I know she'll have awesome results this week) and still have my 5:30pm gymnastics training
